Pigs are a pest
Mayer Lin loves flowers. It started as a school project, but became
more. Now she has over 50 different little bottles, tins and plastic
bags with plants in them. She goes for long walks, climbs mountaintops
in search of plants with flowers. She digs them up and brings them
back to plant around the house. They fight to grow and live in their
jars, tied to trees, sticks and the house. She has tried everything
but the pigs always find a way to eat them. Mayer Lin looks forward
to the new house her father will build one day. Don Fran has promised
to build a proper pen for the pigs. Her futile struggle will be
over and her flowers will be able to grow. |
